This paper presents the design process and model evaluation of a propeller for the U.S. Navy's research vessel, T-AGOS 19, with a SWATH (Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull) Configuration. The design procedure is discussed in detail including considerations of cavitation and propeller-excited vibratory forces. The design objective was to minimize the blade cavitation at various operating conditions. Model experimental results including powering and cavitation characteristics are presented which confirm the validity of the design process. (Author).
