The survey obtained data on volume and characteristics of person trips by air, bus, and auto between specific major metropolitan areas. The objective of the survey was to provide reliable data for use in calibrating travel models developed by the U.S. Department of Transportation during earlier phases of the Northeast Corridor project. The report describes execution of the survey, and presents tabulated results. Particular attention is given to development of the sample design and to the application of project experience to future surveys. (Author)
