Maintaining the safety and strength of an aircraft is dependent upon the capability of appropriate Air Force commands to perform maintenance and inspections throughout the service life of the aircraft. One of the maintenance action involves the collection and reporting of operational usage data to support the Loads/Environment Spectra Survey (L/ESS) and Individual Aircraft Tracking (IAT) programs. This paper presents the Air Force Approach to training operational flight and ground crews about their responsibilities and the importance of this task which is an integral part of the Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) required by AFR-80-13 and MIL-STD-1530A.
