The project proposes to 'establish a regulated navigation area for the entrance to Chesapeake Bay' to prevent collisions between vessels and vessel collisions with the trestlework of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel (CBBT) which spans the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay between the city of Virginia Beach and Cape Charles, Northhampton County, Virginia. Environmental impacts are discussed.
