Pacific-Gulf Marine (PGM), in its commitment to developing innovative ship management methods, has entered into a cooperative agreement with the United States Maritime Administration. This cooperative agreement provides the opportunity and resources for PGM to develop and implement alternative ship management techniques which may serve as a useful model for other ship operators. As such, it is part of a combined effort to advance the United States' position in world maritime commerce. In the international maritime industry there is increasing activity to optimize shipboard efficiency and effectiveness and achieve an integrated and finely tuned ship-shore system. The project is aimed at the most effective and beneficial management of the trend.
