A computer program for evaluating helicopter performance in accelerated flight has been developed. The program was designed to permit analysis of any definable single rotor helicopter. Provisions for partial or total power loss at any point along the flight path are included. To accommodate emergency conditions provisions are made for evaluation of auxiliary power devices, tip rockets, JATO, RATO, fly wheels, drag brakes, and dropping of external loads. Optimization routines for establishing height-velocity envelopes are also included. The program is linked with a plot package which provides 40 prime output variables to be plotted. A perspective view of the flight path and plots of height-velocity diagrams are also available. This volume covers the engineering aspects of the program. Volume II presents the User's Manual.
