Head injury is a leading cause of the morbidity and mortality associated with automobile crashes, and other forms of trauma due to blunt impact. The volumes serve as an executive summary of 3 other volumes describing a multi-year effort to understand at a fundamental level the actual mechanism of brain injury. The volume also contains a complete list of all publications produced as a result of the research described.
