Drivers older than 55 are more likely to be involved in traffic accidents. They also have a smaller chance of survival. Yet their risks are greater if they cycle or walk. This is true if the time they spend on the road and the number of trips they make are taken into account. Statistically it is also shown when and where they run the greater risks. The figures are not sufficiently large to direct the policy towards improvement.
