The Safety Statement was prepared by the Autonetics Columbia, OH Missile Systems Division of Rockwell International under Contract DAAK10-77-C-0212 for the design and fabrication of a mast mounted sight, with integrated laser designator, that is mounted above the rotor mast of an OH-58C helicopter. It was found, based upon design data, operating and maintenance procedures, and experience gained in the laboratory, that the GFP laser within the mast mounted sight can be used and maintained with hazards controlled within acceptable limits.
