In a simple prescribed rotor wake model for hover developed at ARL, generalized model rotor experimental data are used to position the tip vortices. Parametric studies are conducted to explore the sensitivity of calculated induced power with the positioning of these vortices. Calculated induced power, obtained directly by extrapolating model data to the full-scale case of a UH-1H Iroquois helicopter, is compared with flight data, and the required repositioning of the vortices to match flight data is given.
