Discussion is presented of the means with the aid of which overloaded airplanes may take off. Consideration is given to the problems of auxiliary rolling and jettisonable gears, as well as a brief analysis of the problems in launching large size, overloaded airplanes with the aid of a catapult or other means, such as an electrically driven take-off cart.
