The Transit Reliability Information Program (TRIP) is a government-initiated program to assist the transit industry in satisfying its need for transit reliability information. TRIP provides this assistance through the operation of a national Data Bank. This Data Bank collects, stores, and analyzes data generated by transit operators during the course of revenue service operation and equipment maintenance. The results of the periodic analysis of the stored data are distributed to TRIP participants and users. This report provides a description of the utilization of TRIP as a tool for conducting a Reliability Verification Demonstration Plan for rapid rail vehicles.
