The scope of the program reported in this technical report concerns the demonstration of the feasibility of utilizing ARM-021 type materials in a shipping and storage container for liquid tanks. The criterion for the demonstration was to impact test articles on a hard surface at 130 knots, 219 feet per second, without external leakage. Numerious laboratory tests were performed on the materials to be used during the program. Four dummy drops were accomplished from a helicopter to confirm stability, impact velocity, altitude, accuracy, velocity measurement, and motion picture coverage of the test articles. Five test articles were drop tested from a helicopter. The container and payload weight for the drop tests was approximately 800 pounds. The impact velocities obtained ranged between 208 feet per second and 218 feet per second. (Author)
