The technical manual presents the results of three surveys on the mixed land-use trip rate. The three sites for extensive surveys are: Cross Key, Burke Center in Maryland, and Reston in Virginia. The survey results provide a basis for estimating the traffic impact due to a mixed land-use development. A systematic procedure for projecting the trip generation rate under various types of mixed land-use environments is also included in the manual.
