This report, conducted by Transportation and Economic Research Associates, Inc., was funded by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency. It examines the feasibility of rehabilitating the El Salvadorian national Railroad. The report contains information on the existing state of the railroad, the existing and projected traffic flows, and a thorough market study, including truck competition, analysis. This project has the potential to produce between $9 to $15 million in U.S. exports, with the majority of exports coming from engineering services, rolling stock, signaling equipment, and communications equipment.
