A naval surveillance radar switchboard for surface ships is described which is compatible with current surveillance radars and display systems. It also results in a more efficient single channel radar data distribution system for use in future ship installations. The new switchboard is all solid state, smaller in volume, lighter in weight and more dependable than its predecessors. It is estimated that implementation of the solid state switchboard could result in savings of $65 million for the surface Navy over a ten year period.
