The project is in accord with the established objectives of the 1990 Wisconsin state highway plan and the Southeastern Regional Planning Commission's 1990 land use and transportation plan. It is considerate of balanced social, economic, and environmental systems. The proposed project will change the use of some lands from agriculture to transportation. It will also require the clearing within proposed construction limits of approximately one-half mile of wooded land. Approximately 1/3 mile of marshland will be disturbed. Runoff from the new highway will be included in the watershed of several existing lakes.
