The height of the ionospheric irregularities giving rise to satellite scintillation has been found using spaced receiver observations from several places in Europe and on Spitsbergen. The irregularities are found to be in the 200-400 km range over Europe. Only two observations from Spitsbergen were reducible and gave heights above 400 km. (Author)
