The Soviet program concerning crew safety and rescue aids is summarized. Complex procedures to ensure safety in all phases of the mission are envisaged. The program includes the steps of orbit insertion with the help of booster, orbital flight and recovery. The possibility to expand feasibilities for crew rescue by using spacecraft of different countries in orbital flight phases are considered. The problem of manned spacecraft/stations systems compatibility is analyzed. It involves radiocommunication systems, orbital rendezvous control systems, docking units, internal atmospheres. In this case, spacecraft additional equipping and technical decisions changes are needed.
