The NASA Technology Utilization Program to transfer NASA technology to other industries is examined. Consideration is given to the various activities of the program, including the dissemination of new technology, industrial outreach, applications engineering projects, and repository services. Studies assessing the Technology Utilization Program are reviewed. The advantages of spinoff technology from NASA projects are discussed and a partial list of spinoffs for composite materials is presented to demonstrate the variety of applications for NASA aerospace technology.
