The number of accidents in which motorized vehicles for disabled persons are involved, is quite small when compared with the other categories of vehicles. Since there are no data available on the total number of these vehicles and on the number of kilometers traveled with these vehicles, it is difficult to establish whether motorized vehicles for disabled persons are relatively more or less involved in accidents than are other vehicles. Most accidents with these vehicles occur inside built-up areas, in daylight and during dry weather. Most conflicts arise with cars in which priority questions are the main cause of the accident. Regarding the severity of injuries it can be concluded that the number of fatalities in such accidents is quite small, but there is a relatively large number of injuries requiring treatment in hospitals.
