The proposed project in Hayward (Wisconsin) contemplates the construction of a runway extension (75 x 1400 Ft.); overlay existing runway (75 x 3600 Ft.), apron (150 x 200 Ft.) and connecting taxiway (30 x 370 Ft.); relocate town road; and install medium intensity lighting system and land acquisition. The construction of the NE extension will have a slight effect on an element of the human environment which is now affected by the existing runway. The extension will allow general aviation turbojets to use the airport, but due to the low number of operations forecast for these noisier aircraft, the noise level should not be a significant factor. The only identifiable adverse environmental effects of the project will be the aircraft noise imposed on those residents in the approaches to the NE/SW runway. (Author)
