The Forest Service has used small, lightweight, truck-mounted slip-on units in suppressing wildfire and managing prescribed burns. The report outlines basic system layout and weight problems encountered with the fiberglass tank, WGC-4 centrifugal pump, and electric rewind hose reel. The solution, involving the mounting of those components on a 1-ton flatbed truck so that all controls and stored equipment can be reached by an operator standing on the ground, is described.
