This report explains the runway departure of American Airlines flight 102, a DC-10-30, after landing at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, on April 14, 1993. The safety issues discussed in the report include weather conditions affecting the flight, flightcrew and air traffic control training and procedures, airplane emergency evacuation, lighting, and runway maintenance.
