The improvement entails 1.2 miles of reconstruction and 0.3 mile of new construction on International Airport Road (FAS Route 545) from FAP Route 42 eastward to FAP Route 31. It will be a four-lane, two way, urban highway with a bridge over Campbell Creek and a diamond-type grade separation at the intersection with FAP Route 31. The route lies wholly within the Greater Anchorage Area Borough, state of Alaska. Main impacts of the improvement will be the actual construction of a portion of the route across presently undeveloped land- and accelerated construction of commercial and light industrial establishments on the abutting undeveloped land--a result of the access provided by the project.
