The objective of the Phase I flotation test was to determine the functional suitability of the Life Preservers under operational conditions and to determine intervals between periodic inspections. The Phase II flight test was conducted to evaluate crew comfort, durability, and compatibility of the LPU-11/P and LPU-12/P with other equipment. (Author)
