Based on the investigations in part 1 the structure of the energy consumption in traffic is analysed. The energy efficiency (the specific energy consumption) of the passenger transport are calculated. Some specific factors of the energy consumption are analysed to evaluate the probable development and possibilities of conservation. These factors are : technological requirements, standard of the vehicles, the utilization of vehicles, the pattern of traffic, the volume of passenger transport, choice of means of transport. Specially the volume of passenger transport and its distribution on the different means of transport, but also the traffic pattern and the utilization of vehicles are factors that depend on the urban patterns. These factors also depend on socio-economic and traffic-political developments.
