The purpose of the study was to develop the technology required to produce glass fiber cord aircraft tires. Glass fiber cords and rovings were evaluated for tensile properties, adhesion, and flex-fatigue resistance and Glass fiber cord plied structures were tested as to their compatibility with bias angle tire design or radial construction. Next full size glass fiber cord aircraft tires were constructed and tested. (Author)
