The report describes and gives results of field traffic tests conducted to evaluate two variations of the Convair landing mat: one type has a laminated wood core and the other type an aluminum core. Based on the traffic test results and the observations made during the tests, conclusions are drawn concerning the ability of the mat to perform satisfactorily as a surfacing for runways or taxiways.
