The project proposes relocation and improvement of approximately 20 miles of State Route No.US-23 in Wyandot, Seneca and Wood Counties, Ohio, beginning southwest of Carey and ending just north of Fostoria. The project would provide a four lane limited access, divided highway, which could later be extended northward to the Toledo area. Proposed project will provide a safer and more efficient route for through traffic, relieving present congestion in Carey and Fostoria and allowing city streets to serve local traffic. Adverse environmental effects include diversion of some agricultural land to highway purposes, but this acreage is minimal compared to the large area of agricultural land to be served. Improvement will necessitate the taking of a few residences and farmhouses.
