Avionics product development is a multi-disciplinary activity carried out by multiple design groups and often distributed over several companies. The avionics products are usually composed of multiple hardware and software elements. By improving system specification and requirements verification techniques, early shortcomings (thus future problems) can be avoided. Early verification therefore is important as a quality objective and early prototyping has become an important means to achieve this.
