The National Legal Assistance Support Project includes (1) National Training Project which provides advocates with skills training in elderlaw, trains trainers to expand quality training within states, develops linkages between aging and legal services, networks, provides Technical Assistance (TA) to advocates; (2) Volunteer Recruitment and Technical Assistance- Goal: provides volunteer recruitment and TA to advocacy agencies nationwide and established statewide networks of volunteer advocates; (3) Innovative Delivery Systems Medicare and Health Insurance Counseling Projects; (4) Protective Services. Goal: enhance independence and dignity of vulnerable older people through increased quality legal assistance, improved legislation and broadly disseminated legal information; (5) Statewide Legal Hotlines. Goal: expand access to quality free or low-cost legal services by developing and maintaining statewide legal hotline programs.
