A slender-body theory for ship motions with finite forward speed is presented. This is an improvement of an earlier interpolation theory. The original theory is unsatisfactory due to the following: three dimensional effects are overestimated for symmetric motions and vanish for antisymmetric motions. The original theory was recasted, and this flaw was removed. The theory is developed for oscillating ships with finite forward speed and expanded to steady motion problems.
