This report surveys critically the 17 papers presented at the meeting and the final Round Table Discussion. An overview on the present status of the employed technology and its shortcomings is reached as well as an overview on the current developments in the field. It is placed within the context of engine operating and maintenance costs and engine design including its relation to the mechanical and aerodynamic performance of engines.
