The Run-Off-Road Collision Avoidance Using IVHS Countermeasures program is to address the single vehicle crash problem through application of technology to prevent and/or reduce the severity of these crashes. This report contains a summary of data used in the clinical analysis conducted in heavy truck analysis for Task 1. The data was extracted from 113 NTSB heavy truck run-off-road cases selected for analysis. All NTSB cases were selected from the 1992 data file. Each case is described by a data summary sheet, which contains descriptive data on the crash, a narrative of what occurred in the crash, a scene diagram illustrating the crash site with the vehicle's trajectory, and a situation tree summarizing the crash sequence.
