The design and use of liquid rocket engines in cosmonautics is discussed. The main liquid rocket engines of certain spacecraft including the Luna, Soyuz, Apollo, and Viking are considered. Monopropellant and bipropellant rocket engines are among the auxiliary rocket engines described.
