This paper describes the design, calibration and testing of an inexpensive, yet accurate two component dynamometer. The force balance was designed to measure drag and side forces, and to allow for pitch and heave motions. Testing of the dynamometer was carried out using a 1/6-scale model of the 5.5 meter sailing yacht Antiope. (Author)
