A soil ripper attachment and a dozer blade with push arms have been installed on a TT-4 tractor to produce a rig, disignated the LD-18, intended for use in the construction and maintenance of log hauling spurs. The implements and their controls were added onto the TT-4 in a simple, innovative manner that entailed no major modifications to the tractor itself and that permits their removal for hauling jobs. The prototype of the LD-18, described in this article, successfully underwent field tests, was approved for manufacture, and is currently being turned out on a serial basis by the Yoshkar-Ola Logging Machinery Plant.
