This report responds to a Congressional request for a review of purchasing controls and activities within the Airway Facilities Division of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Alaska. This FAA unit, which we refer to in this report as AFA, is responsible for maintaining airway navigation and communication equipment, such as radar and communications towers, throughout the state.
