The Computer Aided Load Manifesting (CALM) is designed to provide load planning personnel with automated production of mobility load planning documents, replacing the manual system. It is used to preplan aircraft loads and, during actual deployments, build aircraft load plans used for marshaling, loading, and cargo/personnel manifesting. The system uses high resolution graphics coupled with user-friendly menus to guide a load planner easily through otherwise difficult and time-consuming aircraft load planning. CALM also provides the capability to maintain and retrieve equipment and materiel information, aircraft load information, and those aircraft features and characteristics which must be considered when load planning cargo and passengers. The version includes the capability to load plan C-130, C-141, C-5 and KC-10 aircraft and to interface with COMPES receiving data files from that system.
