The subject project is located in Halawa, District of Ewa, on the Leeward side of the island of Oahu. The present design project consists of extending the portion of Halawa Heights Road now being constructed as part of Halawa Interchange from the south bank of Halawa Stream in the south-westerly direction, under Interstate Route H-1, to an at-grade intersection at Salt Lake Boulevard. The proposed project, a four-lane divided highway with two additional auxiliary lanes for access to the new Oahu Stadium approximately 0.6 mile in length, will be an integral part of the highway system for Leeward Oahu. The project will alleviate traffic congestion and provide a more direct route to Pearl Harbor.
