The paper describes the design of the reentry guidance for Hypersonic Flight Experiment vehicle (HYFLEX), which is now under development at NAL and NASDA to prepare for its scheduled launch in 1996. First, the mission requirements of this flight experiment are described. Secondly, a reentry guidance based on the drag deceleration guidance and the azimuth angle misalignment correction guidance is suggested and its ability is evaluated. Consequently, the proposed reenntry guidance is proved to have sufficient ability to satisfy the mission requirements.
