The purpose of this thesis is to introduce the reader to Ferroelectric memory and discuss considerations for possible space and Naval aviation applications. Ferroelectric memory's characteristics and basic mechanism are discussed. A broad spectrum of existing computer memory types are presented for comparison. The memory requirements of Space Shuttle, Landsat, Intelsat VI and Hubble Space Telescope as well as the Navy E-2 Hawkeye and EA-6B Prowler aircraft are given as possible examples of space and Naval aviation applications of ferroelectric memory.... ferroelectric, nonvolatile memory, spacecraft memory, aircraft memory, memory applications.
