Target classification is discussed as applied to a ground-based site-security radar system. Discrimination functions were developed for human, vehicle, small animal, bird, and nontranslating return. Acceptable classification performance was achieved for single-cell assessment, and high-confidence classification is expected for multiple-cell (i.e., track) assessment. (Author)
