This land cover map is an intermediate product of the mFUND project INCORA ('Improved monitoring of settlement areas through satellite-supported spatial observation'; FKZ: 19F20579C). The project aims at the automatic extraction of the total built-up area using satellite images. Currently, the land cover map includes 5 classes: trees, built-up, grass, bare soil and water. The city of Dortmund has been chosen as the first pilot city. This map will be improved in the next project year for better accuracy. Later, this product will be used for the calculation of selected urban development indicators.
