Between 1962 and 1966 various modifications were introduced into the large cavitation tunnel in order to improve its cavitation and noise characteristics. A considerable reduction of the self noise of the tunnel was obtained which makes noise tests for propellers more reliable.

    Furthermore a modernization was carried out to simplify the control and handling of the tunnel.
