The equation of unresisted rolling in still-water is used to obtain the transfer functions of this motion. Some of the best known results in naval architecture are derived from these expressions. Suspended weights and free liquid surfaces are regarded as cases of positive feedback whose influence is calculated by block diagram algebra.
