During the last decade modelfamilies have been investigated in several towing tanks to determine the scale effect on the self-propulsion factors. Due to the small number of modelfamilies which have been tested it is at the moment impossible to determine exactly the scale effect on the propulsion data. The purpose of this paper is to give some simple expressions for the thrust deduction and the wake fractions by the investigation of the results of some wellknown modelfamilies. These give possibility for a simple extrapolation from the model to the ship.
