The authors describe PARAMICS which consists of a suite of software tools for the simulation of traffic conditions at the individual vehicle level. The software is the result of three years of joint development between the Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre (EPCC) and SIAS Ltd. Microscopic simulation has been a desire of traffic modelers and transportation planners for many years, since it is only by considering individual vehicles that congestion effects, variable driver behaviour effects, and accurate pollution emissions can be simulated. The current PARAMICS software accepts standard traffic modelling data formats, and includes a large number of transport planning and environmental features. (3 pages)
