This paper describes Centro's involvement in the QUARTET Project. Centro's contribution to the project is designed to provide real time information at bus stops and quality passenger information in the West Midlands. QUARTET forms part of the European Commission Funded Drive II Project. The various elements of QUARTET Project are described and the difficulties of operating such systems in a deregulated public transport environment where the network is dynamic examined. The paper discusses the future developments of passenger information systems in Centro, based on the experience gained through QUARTET.
